Title: 1956
Post by: oldskool49 on January 13, 2013, 05:55:45 AM
This is what I traded the 59 for. 292 Y block, 3 on  the tree with OD. A big step back from the 59 or 57 that had muscle. But there was something special in a wagon. At this point in time it was nothing for me to pull into a friends car port and jack her up, drop the tranny to change out the clutch, flywheel and through out bearing and before putting it all back together put in a Mr. Gasket bang shifter. Then go cruizen the streets and drive-ins at night. Today my body wont survive getting on the ground. SUCKS TO GET OLD! The hood came from a good friend Dave and his 56 that he built, his was identical except the 427 and 4spd. I found the hood sitting in an alley one night by accident. Swapped my factory hood for this teardrop. Straight up.
This is one car I would like to regain or wish I had kept. Traded it for a 70 Ford Torino GT. Yep 390 with 4spd.

Ah things that we let slip through our hands.
