New guy
« on: December 28, 2016, 04:14:25 PM »
Hello from central Pa.  My name is Bruce Reigle, I'm 60 this year, been building cars, trucks, bikes, etc for about  45 of those years.  Just got throwed off h.a.m.b., only lasted 3 days. Seems they didn't like my vehicles, questions, or ideas.  Anyway, I like building old vehicles with updated underpinnings, I'll use any parts that'll suit my purpose, so if you don't like a Willys truck with a Toyota engine or a 55 Merc. with IRS and overdrive just scream it out and I'll find somewhere else to go.  This was my last big project :

Thanks, the rod in my photos is sitting on an 87 Toyota truck chassis, had to surgically remove 5 feet of it, runs a buick aluminum v-8 & 5-spd.

Welcome from Middle Tennessee!!  My coupe, (28-31 A Model/24 Dodge) sits on an old Nisan pickup chassis with a 48 Ford front end, a 9" Ford rear end, a 700R4 tranny, a 67 ChevyII 4 cylinder engine, and numerous other unrelated parts and pieces.  the left door is from a 30/31 A model and the right door is from a 28 A Model coupe!!

I was welcomed here and have made myself at home.  H.A.M.B.ers don't like us using barn hinges from Tractor Supply instead of paying $100.00 a piece for replica or antique door hinges and stuff like that!!

Make it safe!!  Make it you!!

That l'il pickup looks swell!!

Welcome to the nation Bruce, its great to meet ya. Love the ride. F*ck h.a.m.b. that site is full of haters. They can't seem to believe that the rides we build are works of art and get more station then thief cookie cutter vehicles.
You are very welcomed here so feel free to ask questions or offer some help to those that don't have 40 plus years of building rides.
Love building rat rods, driving mustangs, and building websites.

Thanks for the welcome all !  The black pickup is gone now but not forgotten , I spent three years building it and drove it for seven, traded it for this:   which I turned into this: I understand the pickup now has a black frame , Cragar wheels, and a steel bed, and is owned by a woman in Milton, Pa. who wont part with it.  A couple more pix :

I still had it yesterday, it BETTER still be there ! LOL. It's a Harley, 45cu.in. The trans clutch and primary are from a big twin like a pan or knuckle . Tanks are 48 panhead, rear section of the frame is 52 BSA, the front section is homebuilt. Wheels are 80 Suzuki, forks are Paugho. I made the seat and bags.

The bike is kinda' rat eligible too!!  WAY CoOOL!!!

Mine is a '79 Lowrider, but it's running a 90 inch Delcron/Shovelhead and a six speed, a '47 offset springer and a Sturgis swing arm and belt drive. There's a Fat Boy oil tank and battery box, late model rubber mount tanks, 80 spoke 16" rims, 11" dual front discs, an Evo primary and a split fire ignition.  I'm running 56" beach bars and genuine Flanders handlebar mounts with Evo controls. It has a cop seat and sometimes a set of the small hard saddlebags and cop style running boards.  The seat hight is 23"!!!

I'll try to post a pic or two when I get some onto my computer.  It kinda' looks like a '53 DeLuxe with a custom front fender.
