Today's drive
« on: March 10, 2013, 11:38:50 PM »
Aah, I love global warming! For the first time in about a decade we're having an early spring (thanks Punxsutawney Phil!). Today was in the upper 60's so a group of us from my little town headed out on the first "Cinnamon Bun Run" of 2013!  We went to Heaven On Earth restaurant, which will be the site of the Cow Creek Jalopy Jam this August 11. They love us there; they give us meal discounts and free desserts.

From there it was on up to an indoor car show at Roseburg, Oregon, about 45 minutes north. The Scrap Rod is really running like a watch - I wish I could convey how fun it is to drive now. The carbs are finally dialed in (found a vacuum leak) and it starts instantly, idles smooth even when cold, gets great mileage, and when I kick in both carbs ALL HELL BREAKS LOOSE!

Cruised home having covered about 100 miles. A great day. Here's some pics:

Ha ha, yeah it went up that high in a couple of days, then just stopped. My reserve is 12 so unless it gets some last minute bidders I'll probably be keeping it. Won't bother me - I love it!

Dang that must be nice. We are still getting winds here and snow off and on for the last 3 days.
Love building rat rods, driving mustangs, and building websites.

Nice to get an early start, and to have a truck that's run'n well.
