I'm not usually a fan of gimmicky stuff but that's pretty cool!

Given the cost and it still required 100% of the fab work to actually build it, I'd pass.

Wait er minute, doesn't it mean your frame is only as strong as your worst two side welds.
I can weld some, and I would pass.

What was my thoughts as well. There are a lot of welds involved in that frame which only magnifies the chances of a failure. A failure in a frame like that, would not be pretty. I'd stick with the time tested boxed in frame.

My reservations are primarily philosophical: the ever-escalating need to be "different" at whatever cost. At some point frame gimmicks and bracketry become the rat rod equivalent of ghost flame paint jobs - everyone trying to outdo everyone else in an ever-growing need to get attention and stroke egos.  I just posted a build installment about my simple, functional motor mounts. Yes, I could have built some like these (pictured below) to draw attention to what an outrageous fabricator I am. But it would be easier and cheaper to just dye my hair flouro pink    :P

My concern was just safety, you just can't look that cool when your stuck on the side of the road because of a frame idea that seamed cool.
Those motor mounts look good to me.
Please include a picture of your hair flouro pink.

Love building rat rods, driving mustangs, and building websites.
