anybody know- disc conversion 50-56 IH r110 front axle?
« on: September 26, 2017, 05:38:13 PM »
ok, so im beating stuff between two rocks here...
got a 55 plymouth 2dr im going to gasser, plans
call for a 468" chevy /muncie 4spd (because i already
have them...) and a straight axle up front.

found a 54 R110 IH pickup, complete end to end front axle
$150...kinda hard to say no when the speedway kit is $1K
after tax/ship.

anyway, before i order bearings, wheel cylinders, shoes,
etc for that front end--anyone know of a disc conversion out there?
the parts to "restore" the stock drum setup will run me roughly $300
after shipping, so if i can find something similar but to convert to discs
i may go that way instead.

saw the TSM kit, looks ok but over $500...plus shipping, im in hawaii so
shipping is CRAZY.......
anything else anyone can recommend? thanks for any/all help, aloha !

speedway motors has some really good prices on their disk brake kits, you may not find anything made for your specific application but you should be able to find something for another make and "make" it work. I doubt there are too many differences in that time frame.
