1947 chevy fleetmaster 4 door
« on: January 17, 2012, 10:32:53 PM »
I'm 20 years old and this is my first build with my dad I traded my 70 duster for the 47 Chevy fleetmaster 4 door car its all original came with two straight 6s one was bore 60 over but I got rid of them for a bore 40 over 350 with Pete Jackson gear drive and a big cam all I gave for the motor was 200 bucks then I got a Turbo 350 trans that came out of my buddies 57 Chevy drag truck I paid 25 bucks for I finally found me a parts car 77 camaro so far I have been collecting parts haven't put anything on the car yet.my plans are to paint it flat sublime green with a gloss green on top with lace pattern the interior going to be two captain seats I got for free which are going to be redone black with metal flake vinyl then I'm bagging it on some general Lee look alike 15s which my brother and I are building the 2 links and notch when I get my laptop back up ill post pics

Let me turn you on to a cool website to calculate your mph vs. rpm vs. ring and pinion ratios . according to the calculator with a 4.55 to 1 ratio and 27" tall tire you will be turning 3400 rpm's at 60 mph in high gear . in comparison with a 3.08 to 1 ratio you would be traveling 88 mph . Check out this site and plug in your info    http://www.roadkillcustoms.com/hot-rods-rat-rods/Speed-Potential-Calculator-for-Ring-Gear-and-Pinion-Changes.asp
