Car Auction
« on: May 05, 2014, 07:29:52 AM »
My brothers step Dad has a fairly extensive car collection ranging from the early 20's to present and they held an absolute auction this last saturday . I was amazed at the number of people that showed up all week long to preview the cars on friday alone there were over 100 people there . He will start over again i'm sure building a new collection .

So did everything sell? I'm guessing absolute means no reserve?

correct - no reserve . One guy paid $1000 to back out of a deal , claims he bid on the wrong car , in his defense they did run two silver convertible cutlas'  back to back so they accepted the deal and let him out

There was a broad range of price on the cars , they were as low as 1000 to $53000 . this was not barrett jackson , it was an auction for the average man .
