butt weld or lap and spot weld
« on: May 16, 2012, 08:56:06 PM »
Just wandering what you guys think. I'm about to start welding my 55 to its new floor and was wandering whats the best way to weld the panels together. In some areas lapping and spot welding is possible. Is that best or should I trim it in and butt weld it. I am gonna have to build some more panels to fill between inner rockers and the g body floor pan. I tried to load some pics but my phone says no. Plenty of pics in my build thread .

JUST SEAL IT WELL....''all metal''filler helps get the contours perfect....i butt weld but likw a small shelf to hold the object steady in a few areas.....bead roller helps too....good luck   about ready to start doing my 55 too...again...speed and custom of iowa
