Some people perceive churchgoers as meek and mild. Well, where I live a couple of would-be muggers got their asses flat-out kicked by a guy walking to church. This from a local news station:
Two, Bloodied and Jailed, Following Robbery Attempt
Two men, widely known among Medford Police, were jailed after allegedly attempting to attack and rob John Brandon Shawnego Sunday as he walked through the Tinseltown parking lot on his way to church.
The two approached Shawnego saying they were going to assault him. Shawnego set his backpack down and Joseph Perez Knox Miyazaki tried to grab it and was rewarded with a punch knocking him to the ground. His partner, Cameron Mitchell Manning, 22, then attacked and was also floored with a single punch.
With both men on the ground and Miyazaki bleeding from the head, Shawnego pulled his cellphone and began shooting video of the incident. Police termed his behavior “justified.”
Miyazaki and Manning are the primary suspects in the two burglaries of the Sparta Building in May in which $6,700 in cash and merchandise was stolen and they were again captured on video.
