Hello from Oregon
« on: July 09, 2014, 11:21:34 AM »
What a cool site! Lots of great info and even better ideas on here. I'm from TX but am stationed in OR via Coast Guard. I recently fell in total lust over the rat rod craze, so I picked up a 1936 Mack dually that has custom frame, traditional front suspension and steering. It's been channeled and comes with hood and grille. I'm going to stuff a 1998 dohc 4.6l cobra and 5sp. I wanted to go diesel but hey this is what I had so I'll go there first. Next ill chop the top way way down and just have some fun!

Welcome Jason. We have a few Oregon members on RRN, including ratrodranger and myself.

Come visit the south end of the state. In August we have the giant Ratrod-O-Rama and in September the Cow Creek Jalopy Jam.

Ratrod-O-Rama is August 23rd at Merlin, off I-5 just north of Grants Pass.

The Jalopy Jam is September 13th at Azalea, south of Canyonville, just about 100 miles from you.  I organize this "anti-show" so come down and say hi!

Thx guys! I can't decide if I want to cut the horns off the front or out a cool bumper on it? Also I plan to go to as many cruises as possible.

The biggest cruise in the state is this weekend just inland from you at Roseburg - Graffiti Days. It's your typical street rod sort of town-sponsored tourist event  but there will be lots of cool hot rods and rats there too. I'll be there distributing flyers for the Jalopy Jam (only to cars I like!) May take my sedan - haven't decided yet.

Daytime show at Riverforks Park, cruise all night in downtown Roseburg.

Yes, there is a swap meet en route to the show.
