Beautiful truck! I learned to drive in a 1961 F100 with a three on the tree and a 352 Y-block; it was a great truck!

Well what a shit day with this truck. I had a buyer stop by yesterday, look at the truck, start it and all that good stuff. Said he had to get his wife so she can see the truck and left. Well he showed back up later in the day with his wife, they jumped in the truck to go for a ride and it wouldn't start. It was getting fuel and turning over but no start. I even shot a little bit of starting fluid down the carb and nothing. So they left and about an hour later I got it to start.
Best I can tell it's a 1975 ford 460 with duraspark. I'm wondering if the duraspark unit may have caused the no start? I also noticed that the trucks voltage regulator was making a knocking sound, could a voltage regulator cause a no start? O'reilly auto parts has the duraspark box for 30 bucks, but it's an order in item only. Hate to order it and find that isn't the problem. Any ideas? Thanks.

Actually a 352 is an FE engine not a Y block

ahhhhh, it didn't want to leave you, that's so sweet.
Trace the loss of power with a tester next time it won't start, but if it starts then it's harder to fix, assuming the distributor is good, and the connections going to it have good power, then you know where to go I think, I don't know much on Ford durospark.

I'm thinking about converting it to a Chevy hei. Won't have to worry about no start issues after that, spark wise.

Well I sold the truck last night. Hopefully the new owner will enjoy it as much as I had hoped too.
