Topic: Cell phone carriers are aweful

Yesterday I went in to get a new cell phone and wasn’t able to get one. It appears these companies don’t want to sell phones, they want to lease them. If I lease, they will give me a $350 bill credit for my cell phone. If I buy out right, no money for my phone.
I miss the old days when you could go into a carrier and leave with a new phone. Crazy, greedy times we live in.

I just got an upgrade from Verizon. Cost me $9.xx per month for the cheapest one they had. It didn't last 24 hrs before I cracked the screen. They did give me a new one from Insurance. I'm super hard on phones.

I talked with corporate yesterday and they informed me that people don’t want to own their phones. Said people prefer leasing, so that’s the only option available. Told them I don’t remember being asked. I’m hard on phones too, so I bought an otter box.

I paid my I-Phone 5 off over a year ago.  I don't need or want all of the extra features like projectors and such.  If I can make and receive calls, I'm good.  That I can text, e-mail, and check in on the internet are extras that I can appreciate, but none of those things are essential. 

As long as this thing keeps working, I'm not in the market for anything newer.  I may even have it repaired rather than buy something new!!  The Otter box is a big plus!!  I had to buy a new one of those after the screen became too pitted with chips and welder burns!!

Okay, I was finally able to get a new phone. Sprint allowed me to purchase an iPhone 8 Plus for $350 bucks. Had to drive to ft. Collins to get the deal, but I am pleased. Hard to believe getting a newer phone is this tough.

              I buy my phones because i have unlimited service with no restrictions. I am grandfathered in because of my old altel plan. If i upgrad by trading my phone in  I would lose that.   I broke my phone twice in about 6 weeks time and the insurance canceled me. So now I have two buy them regardless.

That’s exactly why I buy too. Stay on my old plan. If I change my plan and lease a phone? Bill would be over 200 bucks a month.
