Some pics of Project Gargoyle's accumulated parts
« on: July 26, 2011, 10:24:47 AM »
Here are pics of the crazy wheels, the Pontiac OHC Straight 6 engine, and the 3-speed tranny I have so far.

Have you ever seen wheels like this? It's a single wheel with dual tires. They're off a Toyota Motorhome, most likely.

Here's a 230 HP SOHC Pontiac Straight 6. It fell off an engine stand, but I think I have all the parts to make it run.

Here's the matching 3-speed manual tranny. I have the bell housing, too.

There's lots of parts in the shed, but I thought the straight 6 would look the coolest.

Sorry about the physical size of the pics... I'd make them smaller, but I don't know how to do that. I'll work on it.

Chris

Here's a set of  horns I got for the Gargoyle this weekend. I think they will get attention. The bell of the largest horn is 11"!

Not yet. My train guy says those run on 125PSI with a half inch line to them. So at least I don't have to come up with a compresser & tank that's higher pressure than most. I'll probably use an 5-ish gallon tank with an electric valve. That'll give me 5-10 seconds of honk per tank-full. That is a LOT of honking given how loud these are! How long it takes the compressor to re-pressure the tank will depend on how much money I spend on it.

LOL my dad has a sick pair of train horns on his Yota and when we would drive by the train tracks down by the water we would stop about a block from the (4) track crossing and wait for en-expectant victims to roll across the tracks.... Then lay on the horns and watch them slam on there breaks and freak out! LMAO Good times Good times indeed.....

Woohoo! I got lucky this weekend! :o

no.. not THAT kind of lucky! Haha

I now have a Jaguar front & rear suspension. It's been rebuilt, so it's good to go except for one rear shock. Also found a 200r4 in "the shed". It'll almost certainly need a rebuild.

Thanks to Mottornoggin for a killer deal!

Of course I have a plan! I'm building some kind of car! haha. I'll be here all week, make sure you take care of your servers.

My plan is to build a sweet ride. I'm still looking for a body. I'm gathering likely useful parts as they come my way. I can't go wrong with what I've come up with so far.  I don't know exactly what body I'll end up with. I'd like something late 20's early 30's. A pickup would be cool, but a real pickup cab is really small for my largeness, so I'd have to make a pickup out of a car if I go that way. Depends on what body I end up with. I'm somewhat open to body style. Talked to a guy in my town that has a decent Hudson car in storage he'd trade me for my sign work, he'll have pictures of it soon.  I'll keep you all updated!

Chris
