My 30 Model a rat rod build.
« on: May 04, 2016, 09:25:50 AM »
New to the site but thought i would share some of the pics form my build .  Started february of 2015.  Only thing left to do is the wiring as pf 5/4/16.   I have  a lot of information on what worked and what didnt work.  Also,  If anyone has questions or suggestions for my next one lets discuss.  Feel free to criticize comment or tell my im nuckin futs.  lol.   Well hope everyone enjoyes some of the pictures.

Here is the beginning.  And some of almost the end.   I will add some more in between.   I have to say the price of a pre 50's vehicle in alaska is spendy.  Alaska wasnt a state until the 50's.

Threw up a off build picture of my other 1930 model a coupe.  Built a custom hitch and loaded up my chopper.  Drove it to and from minnesota to sturgis for the bike rally.  It was a gas.

Frame is square.  Withink 1/16 of an inch corner to corner measurements.  What a relief.

That's a cool picture. I'll bet that was a blast! What we all aspire to...

Hey Bart!  Did those Plymouth tail lights fit the contour of the A model quarters, or did you have to modify???

They fit great.  I used them on both of my model a coupes.  I actually made a mistake and tried some off a 49 Dodge coronet first and they were not even close to the same contour.   But the Plymouth 49 tail lights fight fairly well.  When they are tightened they give a slight bend.  There is still a decent gap on the outside bottom by the tire.  But most of my car there are gaps everywhere.

Hard to find replacement tail light lenses for 49 dodge coronet taillights
Easy to find 49 plymouth tail lights all day long on ebay.

Hope that helps.  I'm away at work but when I get home I can take some close ups of the fit and finish of them for ya.

Looks great .... I always wanted a coupe to build ... one day I may find one.

I like the tranny mount ... may have to use that.
