Need to know the size of the engine in car, and the donor engine size. In some cases years may also need to be considered .

The 302 should go right back in place of the 289 . Although some early 289 engines had a different bellhousing. I have never seen one but from what I gather they had a 5 bolt pattern instead of a 6 bolt like the 302. Other than that it should bolt right in. By the way what did the 302 come out of?

What type of trans. are you gonna run? If your going to have a manual trans you may need to know what year your 302 is so you can get the correct flywheel. I believe Ford had some internal and some external balanced 302 engines. (I may be mistaken on this) If your gonna run the C4 your in good shape if your installing engine and trans. The wiring should be relatively simple. Has the wiring harness been damaged in anyway that you can see?

Don't be afraid to ask specific questions if you get stuck. Someone will be willing to help. Congrats on the harness by the way.

I'm guessing its a 351 Windsor. If so it makes a good substitute for the 302 but it is a little larger. There are a few differences between these engines. But it will bolt in the same spot with little or no hassle.

I forgot to ask, what is your freind asking for the 351?  And what money do you have in the 302? Are both engines ready to install in car or do they need work?
