OT M1 A1 jeep repair

got this thing in the shop, and in the rotisserie. tons and tons of rust here is a video of it before i really got started on it.

Small | Large
Small | Large

been doing a lot of cutting to get the rust out, finially got to do some real metal work on it today. had to make the floor pan, as there are not a ton of parts made for this thing. however it did come with some subframe repair panels which need some re work to be usable. here are some pics from today

nice rust hole in the driver floor

new pan fabbed up and what was left of the original

lots of spot welds drilled out

new pan cleco'd in place

had a rust hole to fix on the frame rail before installing the floor and sub braces

cleco'd in some of the other subframe panels to check fitment

:o Fantastic job dude !!!! I knew a handicapped dude in a scooter chair in England who did a severe rust salvation job like this on a English Ford Thames 300e like mine , but if you can believe it it was worse . The bottom 6 inches of body was GONE !!!!! He did it in his garage at his house . I love seeing an old car or in this case JEEP , saved from the Tin Worm instead of being crushed . Wonderful vids and bravo on the save :D

not to much progress today, ran out of sheet metal before noon ... lol hate it when that happens

so i made a new passenger seat riser and passenger drip rail

seat riser

back side of the riser

here is the drip rail. this piece was more challenging than it looks, with the roll bends, folded edge and with it being so thin i couldnt really do much on the break. mostly done on the bead roller

WOWSVILLE. Recreate by hand what was once made by machine. And it is better than new.
