The doctor released me this morning!! The foot has healed to the point that I haven't had any bleeding or leakage in five weeks!! I have now gone five days without the aid of crutches or the knee scooter!! Even a stint of block laying on Saturday and Sunday showed NO ill effects!!
NOW!! If I can just get my strength and stamina back, AND learn to walk again, I'll be good as new!! I picked up a couple of spaces at the Nashville Good Guys show to see about selling or swapping some stuff that me and Jeff 73MachI have decided NOT to use. It's May 12 & 13th. If any of y'all are down this way, stop by!!

Finally got started on my new garage this week!! 40' X 60' X 14' high. Asked the builder three times to come out and look to see if I needed to grade or landscape any and they said that it would be fine, so yesterday, when the guys showed up to start, I was informed that I need gravel brought in to get the spot to grade. Four tandem loads of gravel and 100' of pressure treated 2x12s later they're ready to pour concrete. There were already 5 truck loads of 2" stone there and it COULD have been leveled up if they had just let me know!!
ANYHOW!!! They have the superstructure up and the trusses set. They will put the roof metal on and pour concrete tomorrow!! I'm hoping to be doing the electrical and getting a final inspection by the end of the month!!

AND!! Today is my 42nd wedding anniversary!!! 8)

They poured and finished the concrete today!! Also poured a pad for my utility shed. It'll hold compressor and generator and maybe a larger water heater.

Roof is on and insulated!! The weather is NOT co-operating, rain and wind some for the next three days. Gotta' pull electrical permit tomorrow and get a little gravel to ramp up into the front entrance.
Anticipation is building!!!

The builder just handed me the keys!! I wrote him a big check!!! Tomorrow, I'll get the rest of the materials for the meter and breaker box and some gravel to transition onto the front apron. If all goes well and I can get it inspected next Wednesday, I'll be able to set the lift and hang lights next weekend!!
The new two post lift and the lights are ordered. I'll pick up a compressor next week and plumb air lines once the electrical is done. I have a shed that held my bikes and a few tools that we will move onto a pad beside the new building to house the compressor and generator and maybe a bigger water heater.

THANKS!! I tore up the phone/confuser line Saturday evening and my internet has been down 'til just a few minutes ago!! STUPID PHONE COMPANY!! They didn't even write a work order until this morning!!
Picked up a 60 gallon Ingersol Rand 5hp compressor Sunday off of Craigslist. Regulator and water traps included!! I have a 60 gallon tank that I might piggyback to add reserve.
Anyhow!! THE EXODUS HAS BEGUN!!!

Spent the last few days getting things put together in the shop. I moved two long term projects inside to get them out of the weather. Jeff73 and I got the new lift stood up and in position with the cables and hoses all run today. We'll do anchors and the rest tomorrow.
We brought a friend's '56 Ford pickup in to install a Corvette front end in and update a few things. The power steering was installed by a shop and they used the old GM drag link cylinder rig. It's atrocious!! The 'Vette front end and steering and brakes will make this one NICE driver!!
OH!! YEAH!! My foot is screwed up again! You can see the damned knee scooter in a couple of pics!! Tis time they put it in a hard cast. Trying to heal up some skin damage from trying new shoes. I DID find some shoes that we think will work, but I gotta' get it healed up again before we can get back to 'em.

Looking good Better take care of that paw! I've been wanting one of those lifts for my shop. Gonna fill in the pit.

I'm thinking that my choice of lift was PERFECT!! That's my son standing beside Ol' Green between the running board and the lift arms.

The electrical inspection is complete and we passed easily!! I'm applying for a certificate of occupancy tomorrow and scheduling the permanent electrical hookup!!

The permanent electrical connection is complete! The codes inspector was by here while ago. I was at the foot doctor's, but my son was here. We have met all the requirements and we received a certificate of occupancy this morning!! I Still have to wire some more lights, the lift, the compressor, and several electrical receptacles, but I can walk in and turn on the lights and do SOME work.
The bad news is that I have to go back on the knee scooter and have another stem cell graft on my foot!! Fortunately, I have some help from time to time and I CAN do a lot sitting or laying down!!

Got some of the lights put up and working yesterday. I also did a bunch more rough wiring. We should have the lift and the whole right side of the shop wired by this evening, as well as the rest of the lights up and working.

That's looking really good when you get done feel free to come help me build one.

We put the lift in service last night!! For reference, Jeff is six feet tall!!
