Transverse spring question
« on: November 25, 2011, 06:04:58 PM »
On this truck, they installed a ladder bar set up so basically it has a 4 link system. My question is, based on the fact that it has the 4 link, should i install a panhard bar or will the spring act as a panhard bar. If not a pan hard bar, should i put a center bar from the top of the pumpkin to the frame for pinion angle? Looking at this set up, i should be able to set my pinion angle with the 4 link set up........here's some pic's that may help in suggestions

I'll be watching this thread because I have a transverse spring, 4 link and no panhard bar.
I haven't had any problems yet but still courious what people say...

The spring will stop side to side movement of the differential so it does the same thing as the pan hard bar , i don't see where you will need it

you will need a panhard bar unless you make you mounts wide enough to pre load the spring. and you should be able to adjust pinion angle with the ladder bar, if it has fully adjustable ends on the rear end side
