"yard truck"
« on: July 11, 2017, 08:23:59 AM »
Some more progress last night. Everything from the cab back is now removed from the frame. I will begin "cleaning up" the frame tonight.

Thanks! Back at it last night, grinding and wire wheeling loose rust. Will post more before it's ready for prep (weld, rust encapsulate etc.)

Applied first coat of rust encapsulator yesterday morning. For the little amount used it goes a long way.

Are you using brush on "Ospho" that turns black in 24 hours, or that spray on stuff that is black when it exits the can?

Brushed this on. Comes out of the can black and thin as water. I started out with a foam brush that is recommend but that didn't last to long before getting soaked and falling apart. I finished with a basic 2" paint brush.

I will try start on the perches/brackets etc. tonight. When everything is done (after the second coat) I'm going to use Eastwood's chassis paint.

I applied the second coat of rust encapsulator to the rear frame rails and got one coat on the brackets/perches etc. I stopped by Eastwood today and got a can of chassis paint to finish it. I still have to strip and clean up three of the cross members and some repair work on one along with cleaning up the rear and the u-bolts and plates.  :-\
