I haven't done the conversion, but i have heard you can do it, but it's a pain. The tranny is longer then a powerglide so you end up needing a shorter driveline, a power source for the 4th gear lock, etc.....

The driveline isn't much of an issue as I have to change out the rearend anyway ..I am going to use the late model S10 rear end as the spring perches are the same..Someone said the 200R would be a better conversion, but I know NOTHING about the 200r...Ideally I would LOVE to find a 3spd with overdrive to mate up with this 250...lol, But I'm trying to work with what I have on hand..lol...Thanks for the input... :)

The 200r is a little shorter.......that's about it.

A 350 or 400R might be a better match. The 700 would be great for more SBC. I know when I went to swap out my glide the better of the 3 was the 700. It is built so that if I punchout the 283 or go 350 to 400 it can handle what I give it. And with the 700 you would have to fab a new support. I know that I had to.
Good luck.
