Newbie from South Florida
« on: July 18, 2016, 05:22:20 PM »
New to the rat rod scene. I'm 35 years old. Have been into jeeps my whole life and decided to build a rat Jeep. It is a 1985 CJ10A tug. Paid $500 for it. Motor is a 5 cylinder turbo diesel from an 83 Mercedes. It's been a lot of fun building this. Figuring out what way to go for the suspension right now. Looking forward to learning from other members on the forum.

Thanks for the welcome Blackwater. Nice forward control. That was the other Jeep I was looking for when I found the CJ10a. I love Tennessee. Planning on going up there for some car shows next year.

Thanks for all the welcomes. Nice to see others like the way I'm going with the build. I'm in Ft Lauderdale. Trying to do this as CHEAP as possible. So far so go. Paid $500 for the Jeep, $450 for the running Mercedes. Built the frame with a buddy. Dually rear 14 bolt was free from an RV that was getting junked.
