Roll Around Shop Light
« on: October 11, 2012, 04:07:05 PM »
I just finished a roll around shop light fixture that is going to be a real lifesaver during the winter months when the light is low and the bay doors are closed . It was a quick easy build using four 4ft shop lights from the home center . I installed a roll up cord reel and power strip so it is all self contained (no hunting extension cords ) .

That's not dust in your eyes ...... it's RUST !!!

One thing I always try and do when I build something for the shop is paint everything the same color blue , that way everything looks like it belongs . I think it helps tie everything together , plus it just looks better . I know it sounds silly , but hey that's just me .  ;D

Those look nice, bet they put out some serious light. You could wrap some zip ties around those bulbs so they dont fall out when you hit a bump in the shop. We zip tie our lights in our crane control houses for that purpose. Nice setup.  8)

Yeah, but they heat your shop up on those cold winter days!
