Anyone know what this is?

I found this in the hot wire to my gas gauge. What is it - some kind of voltage reducer?

Looks like one to me or maybe a Fuseable link?

i vote with lowman but really dont have a clue. In mid seventies worked in the local resistor factory,but this is probably newer.......curious
have a bad AUTOHOLIC PROBLEM

Hmm, the fusible link idea could be possible.  If a certain amperage is reached, the wire burns out?

just " GOOGLED " IT and yep it is probably a fusible link.........god i hate getting old..........next time google the judge before you call him xomethin
