Fire
« on: September 18, 2014, 03:15:40 AM »
The town of Weed, California burned up today. Weed is just south of me; I drove through there just a few days ago when picking up my '49. The fire destroyed 150 homes, the elementary school, two churches and a lumber mill. Half the town's population has been evacuated. The fire was really hard on classic cars. Here's some pics from the news media:

PS: A big fire also started the day I got picked up my '49. You can see it burning in the background here. We've been engulfed in smoke for days here from a fire just to the SW. Maybe some of you recall the photos I posted last year of our 145,000 acre forest fire that almost burned down my town - the glowing sky and the neighborhood so smoky you couldn't see across the street.  I am really growing weary of entire summers being lost to smoke.

That sucks, but damn glad to see you back at it. Nice truck. You've been wanting one. Slam it down.

Damn that is horrible. When i was in oregon for vacation, the gulch fire was near my uncles mountain property. As we were driving around ashland, a dry thunderstorm rolled in and the lighting started a fire.......Scary stuff

That is really sad. Just looking at 2 of the pictures the 2 older cars are salvageable. Sucks.
