Hey Folks
So I have been doing allot of Craigs List shopping around Hunstville/Birmingham and found an add for a 64 Econoline and in the pics it had a letter stating that Alabama don't title anything under 1975 ?
Is this true? So how do you know when your buying something it wasn't stolen?
Anyway that add made me look into Alabama a bit more
Let me tell yoou what I want to do and some of you that have been doing it for a while might be able to enlighten me a bit.
I want to buy old cars and repair them and sell them. Old Classics like 65 Fairlanes and such.
Or if I bought a 1947 Ford and built a rat How do yoou go about getting Licence plates and suck on a special built?
Thanks for your responces in advance.

My understanding is that the law in alabama doesn't title vehicles from 1975 and older, they just give vehicle registrations. So if you were to buy something older than 1975, the owner you are buying from would have to give you a current registration card and a bill of sale.
It should be a bit easier for you if you are actually living in alabama, most people have problems when they take a non titled vehicle out of alabama that doesn't have a title. But, if you have the registration card, most states that require titles, will issue you a title with a registration card, bill of sale, and a vin inspection.....

74 and back no title. 75 and up, must have a title.
Typically if you buy a vehicle built before 1974 in AL. That has not been driven in several years you should get a Bill of Sale from the owner with the VIN number. May the last tag receipt too. Regardless take this information to the courthouse and tell them you bought this and need a tag. Usually you will get one, after paying taxes on the price given for it. There is occasions when they will make you sign something saying that the vehicle has not been driven.
If you buy a vehicle that has a current tag, take Bill of Sale with tag receipt to courthouse tell them you bought this and need a tag. Pay taxes on price paid, get tag, do happy dance out of the courthouse. LOL.
Might be pushing it with Happy Dance.
Have A Big Time!

It’s a tough time but this too shall pass. Coronavirus has really disturbed everything. Everyone is forced to stay at home and not to meet anyone. That’s really sad for an extrovert person. I’m praying for those who are affected. Instead of being gloomy, we should ptcl speed test (https://www.speedput.com/) make a productive routine. Do indoor exercise, read books, and spend time with your family because keeping yourself healthy and sane is really important. For more tips, you can visit this site.
