This is how I fish plated my front part of the frame. 3/8" Diamond plate.

Perhaps my father and uncle were just paranoid but I was always told to add plating and if possible gusset the damn thing.

I am going to fish plate the inside of the frame and gussets in the corners . question do I fish plate the out side as well . or is the inside good ?

It depends on the type of frame you are using. If you are using box tubing, then i would do both sides and if you are using an old frame, i would just box where you make the cuts on the outside and box the inside of the frame........
